Curry, Gravy, and Veg Sides Dishes For Navratri
During Navratri, we prepare various curries, gravies and vegetable side dishes as per the fasting traditions. Popular options are vrat-friendly aloo kadhi, paneer makhana curry and pumpkin sabzi made without onion and garlic.
These are made with sendha namak (rock salt) and mild spices like cumin and black pepper for a sattvic diet. Light and flavorful they go well with kuttu ki roti, samak rice or vrat-friendly pooris.

The best part of the Tangy Lauki aloo ki sabji recipe is that it is primarily a summer veggie, but you can always find it in any season, thus rendering it an all-season vegetable.
Not only this you can eat this while you are fasting too. It gives you added nutrition while you fast.
Aloo Tamatar Ki Sabji
This recipe is famous as a breakfast recipe but can also be served as lunch or dinner.
There’s nothing more comforting and simple than Aloo Tamatar Ki Sabzi, a popular North Indian dish. This dish is made by cooking potatoes in spicy tomato curry. You can also make this while you are on any type of fasting as it conforms to the fasting rules and is super easy to make.
Easy Dry Lauki Ki Sabji
To make this preparation, you only need salt and pepper as spices and cumin seeds/jeera or curry leaves as tempering ingredients, and you have dry lauki ki sabji.
The easy and dry Lauki ki sabji recipe can be served for lunch or dinner every day, and it’s usually made with locally sourced vegetables. It is ideal for cooking while you are on a fast and cooks within minutes, which means no sweating in the kitchen.
Kaddu Ki Sabji with Gravy
In India, pumpkin is easily available during the winter season. The gravy in this sabzi makes it really easy to digest while fasting. Pumpkins are rich in fiber, vitamins A, C, and E, potassium, and many other nutrients. Additionally, they improve blood pressure and strengthen the immune system. You can make it during the fasting season or even during normal mealtimes by tweaking the salt and spices.
Arbi Curry Recipe
Arbi, when cooked, steamed, or boiled, has a sweet and nutty taste. And when it gets cooked in a spicy curry, you will have a lip-smacking dish. It is rich in dietary fiber and good carbohydrates in tara root contribute to healthy weight loss and digestive system function. Additionally, it contains high levels of vitamins C, B6, and E, which strengthen the immune system and neutralize free radicals.

That’s so tempting and mouthwatering recipes. They are healthy too. Definitely, try out recipes at home.
