This recipe for Mirchi Ka Salan, made of peanuts, sesame, and long slit green chilies, is a popular combination of curry and salad.

As a traditional accompaniment, it is usually served with a rice-based biryani or any long grain pulao that is spicy and flavorful.

Alternatively, it can also be served with any type of rice or even a flatbread such as Malabar parantha, roti, or even garlic naan.

The recipe for biryani varies across India, and a variety of side dishes are served with the dish. Yogurt raita or salad is usually served with it, but it can also be served with a variety of curries.

Mirchi ka salan, a popular curry recipe that uses peanuts and green chilies, is one of those popular curry recipes.

In the southern state of India, salan recipes are very common and biriyani recipes are incomplete without them.

Mirchi ka salan is the most common choice, but it can also be made with beans, okra, eggplant, and many other vegetables.

I like the combination of green chilies salan with Hyderabadi dum biriyani. This is primarily due to the way the biriyani is prepared.

You may have noticed that Hyderabadi biriyani is prepared in the dum style with the biriyani gravy at the bottom and the long grains of basmati rice on top.

Adding curry to the rice would help mix the rice with the biriyani gravy. However, it can quickly be served with any rice recipe or even a pulao recipe.

In addition to biriyani, I also like it with Malabar parantha. It can be eaten with a wide range of permutations and combinations.

Additionally, we provide some additional tips, suggestions, and variations to the Mirchi ka salan recipe. Consistency is the most crucial factor in making this recipe.

      • It should neither be thick nor thin.
      • Peanuts tend to thicken foods quickly, and it may be necessary to add more water to get the right consistency.
      • You are also welcome to remove all seeds and use the curry without the chilies, if you feel that adding chilies might spice it up.
      • Other options include okra, beans, and capsicums. You can also prepare large quantities of this curry and deep freeze them for later use.
      • You might need to add more oil for the first time because it works as a preservative.
