- 1 litre Milk
- 8 Egg
- 60 grams Brown Sugar as needed
- pinch Cinnamon ground (optional)
- pinch Nutmeg ground (optional)
- few drops Vanilla Essence
- 3 pieces Bread sliced, day-old: wheat, French, Challah, or other
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour
Instructions
- Combine the milk, eggs, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt and mix them into a smooth batter.
- If whisking by hand, it’s okay if the flour doesn’t mix in completely smooth. Keep this batter refrigerated until needed.
- Heat a skillet (use a nonstick pan or lubricate the skillet with a small amount of vegetable oil or butter to prevent sticking) over moderate heat.
- Dip the bread into the batter, coating the slices evenly. Fry the slices on one side until evenly browned; then turn them and brown the other side.
