- 1 kg. (24 lb.) potatoes
- 50 grams (2 oz.) butter
- 175 grams (6 oz.) grated mozzarella cheese
- 300 ml. (10 fl. oz.) milk or light
- salt to taste
- freshly ground black pepper
Cooking Instructions
- Wash the potatoes and slice them thinly in a round shape.
- In a greased baking dish, make alternate layers of some potatoes and of mozzarella cheese with knobs of butter ending with a layer of cheese and butter.
- Season the milk with salt and freshly powdered black pepper and pour over the potato layer.
- Cover and bake in a medium oven at 180°C (350°F). When the potatoes are tender and the top is browned, uncover and continue baking for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
- Serve hot.
