Great listing you’ve presented! If there’s anything I’d want to highlight when it comes to these hoods is that for most homes nowadays, it isn’t installed the way it should be for it to be useful. Having moved 9 times on rentals, this is what I always notice. Hoods are simply put like a decoration and the smoke it takes only hits a wall in the kitchen which makes the smoke circulate just there instead of what chimney’s are used for where the smoke is released outside.For me, having a hood is great as long as it is put correctly.
My hood was installed very nicely right over my gas stove. And its been 3 years now, and my kitchen drawers and lofts are oil-free. No oily deposits anywhere on the walls and tiles too. Maybe your ducting wasn’t done properly. or maybe due to so many movements the service provided is not good and consistent.
