Indian-Style Simple Fried Chicken Drumsticks every spice lover’s dream to eat this chicken fry. Having a good marinade is essential for fried chicken, and I will talk about it in a minute.

The best thing about this Indian spiced fried chicken is how crispy the outer coating is. That tells your brain from the very first bite that what you’re about to taste is something entirely new and wonderful.

The moment you finish enjoying the crispiness of the chicken fry, you will be hooked by the aromatically flavored Indian spices, succulent meat inside and will be in complete awe of this amazing experience!

All of this is my personal experience, and I am not exaggerating at all! You don’t know what you’re missing out on unless you try these Indian-Style Simple Fried Chicken Drumsticks! The best part of this recipe is that it is ready in 15 minutes… so bye-bye waiting.

In order to penetrate the flavors deep into the meat, a good fried chicken will require some long marinating hours.

This is exactly the case with this particular chicken as well. It will not be possible for the spices to infuse all their goodness into the chicken if you don’t let it rest in the marinade long enough.

So, when making the Indian-Style Simple Fried Chicken Drumsticks, I recommend that you plan ahead for the marinating process.

Also, if you plan on hosting a party at home, this recipe will be a big hit because you will impress all chicken lovers with this unique and tasty fried chicken that you won’t find in many restaurants.

You can alternatively marinate the chicken pieces overnight and then let them chill in the refrigerator the next day if you’re making them for a party. Once your guests start arriving, fry the chicken and serve it hot and crispy.

Note: Not all recipes use drumsticks, you can use bone-in chicken thighs or wings instead; chicken breasts, however, tend to turn especially dry when cooked.

As a lover of Indian food, this fried chicken is packed with Indian spices, making it close to my heart. Sometimes when I am pressed for time and can’t wait for marination I marinate it only for 10-15 minutes.

Despite being brought up on only Indian food, I am fascinated by Indian cooking, which at the same time allows me to play around with flavors and combinations. This Indian-style fried chicken has a few noteworthy features.

Let’s start with brining. Brining involves letting the chicken sit in highly salted water at room temperature for several hours. Water should be at room temperature (you can take the water from your RO directly), neither too hot nor too cold.

Due to its inherent property, salt breaks down the fibers of chicken meat and penetrates within; this ensures that even the meatiest portion of the chicken drumsticks becomes well-seasoned to the core.

As soon as the chicken pieces are brined properly, they must be rinsed thoroughly to remove the excess salt. Now they are ready for the spicy marinate with FoodAllTime garam masala, mint, etc.

The first aromatics spices applied to the chicken drumsticks (LEGS) are ginger and garlic. You can boost the taste of raw chicken by massaging it with ginger and garlic paste.

In Indian-style chicken curries, I always do the same thing. In order for this wonderful Indian fried chicken to taste as great as it does, this step is necessary. Unlike bringing, this step cannot be skipped.

Next comes the final loading of spices. This Indian chicken fry is heavily spiced with coriander, i.e. dhania powder, cumin, i.e. jeera powder, FoodAllTime garam masala, olive oil, Kashmiri chili powder, and kasoori methi, mint, tandoori food colour (optional).

Sometime times when I am pressed for time and guests land up unannounced, I skip all the frills and just stick to simple recipe as displayed in the video.

In order to bind everything together, you will need little curd, and you will need an egg to soften things up. EGG is optional. You can alternatively marinate it for a longer time to get the softer chicken.

You can alternatively add a teaspoon of RUM or RED WINE. Last but not least, to get the crispy outer coating on the fried chicken, all-purpose flour, and cornflour i.e. maida, will do the trick.

If you are in a rush (like I am when my kids suddenly demand it), you can avoid the flour. It will continue to be as tasty as ever but a little less crispy.

Each component in this Indian fried chicken recipe gives it its own distinct purpose, but together they create a fantastic and addictive chicken fry you can’t get enough of! Enjoy!
